Schools Kill Creativity: The TED Talk

“Nobody has a clue…what the world will look like in 5 years time, and yet we’re meant to be educating [children] for it.”

Sir Ken Robinson explains in this TED Talk how, as a society, we are “educating people out of their creative capacities.” He promotes a need for a change in the education system in order to meet the evolving status of society. He suggests that the arts be held in higher regard, to equalize them with studies of math and science. Talent, he explains, has been squandered by institutions who value single principles of the mind.

It’s a fascinating discussion, and quite funny too, which will make you think and perhaps reevaluate the way you view society and the education system.
